Star Trek the Reboot
So I’ve never been much of a Trek person, I’m too young for the original series & most of what was on in my formative years has been fairly far off my radar… I am ashamed to admit this to you dear reader but I’ve never even seen the Wrath of Kahn. That being said I’m no Star Trek newbie either. I watched my fair share of Next Generation in syndication and can certainly appreciate the fact that there is a difference between Romulan’s and Vulcan’s (even if I couldn’t exactly put my finger on what that difference is…).
That being said the new Star Trek movie is simply, FANTASTIC! I really enjoyed it and I was very happy with the story, the character choices, the casting, the timeline, and all the other excitement that came with this movie.
Before I saw this reboot I thought to myself that Batman Begins was a masterpiece made even better because they took all the previous Batman movie baggage and threw it out the window allowing for a clean start and a fresh perspective. Then I saw JJ Abrams take on Star Trek and I can’t believe how much happier I am with how he deals with all the previous Star Trek universe cannon.
The key to this movie though is that it was a lot of fun. I really loved ever minute of this movie and was extremely satisfied when credits rolled. If you weren’t planning on seeing this movie reconsider and if you were make sure you do because you really won’t regret it.
